Let's work together to valorise waste
Our philosophy
GARBAGE'EN: a name that recalls the garbage and that represents, in a provocative way, our ethical and sustainable choice with regard to the use and selection of leathers, collaborating with tanneries that embrace these ideals and buying the surplus leather already used by the big brands.
About us
Sustainable bags collection utilizing leather overproduction.
Garbage’En is the brainchild of three women, Serena, Giulia and Sandra that aims to communicate the strength and beauty of a design with a contemporary punk aesthetic, but combined with the tradition of Florentine craftsmanship.
A name that recalls trash and that represents, in a provocative way, our ethical and sustainable choice to the use and selection of leathers, collaborating with tanneries that embrace these ideals and buying the excess leather already used by the big brands.
The result is a product Made in Italy and handmade, as our bags are entirely designed and made by us in our laboratory/ shop in Florence.
Our Team
Serena Scalella and Giulia Marziali meet very young at the art institute of Florence; both fascinated by the world of fashion, they decide to continue with a training course inherent in fashion. After various work experiences and sacrifices, they decide to found their brand, GARBAGE'EN, in Florence, in 2011, also thanks to Sandra Munoz Sanchez who embraces their aesthetic vision.
